What we do

I've been pulling trees down around Canberra for years — the half-dead snow gum over the patio, the radiata pine threatening to drop on the shed, the cedar that finally split after a hard frost.

Capital-region crew that knows the soil, the wind off the Brindabella ranges, the bushfire-interface streets out west, and the older inner-north blocks where the trees are taller than the houses.

Across Canberra, the species we work with most are Snow Gum (eucalyptus pauciflora), Brittle Gum (eucalyptus mannifera), Candlebark (eucalyptus rubida). Each one has its own pruning windows, failure modes and council protections, and every quote we write is shaped by the species on site, the access to it, and the season.

We work to ACT Government (Tree Protection Unit) planning rules every day. Significant indigenous trees including Yellow Box, Snow Gum, Candlebark, Brittle Gum, River Red Gum are protected and need council approval before removal, unless the tree is dead, dangerous, or specifically exempt. We handle the paperwork as part of the quote when a permit is in play.

Storm season runs October through March, when dry-lightning storms and bushfire smoke days and frost-then-thaw limb failures drive most emergency callouts. The other half of the year — autumn through early spring — is when planned reductions, deadwooding and stump grinding get booked in ahead of the next storm cycle. Fire-danger period runs October through March — vegetation management around dwellings spikes ahead of it.

Our service area runs from Mount Ainslie Nature Reserve to Lake Burley Griffin foreshore , with regular calls out to Black Mountain Nature Reserve, and everywhere in between. Most jobs are inside a 35km radius of Canberra. Box-gum woodland with snow gum and candlebark on the upper slopes is a regular feature of the work in our area.

What we don't do: chase the cheapest quote in town, leave a site without cleaning up, or under-quote to win the job and surprise you on the invoice. Every quote is written, itemised, and stands. Fully insured (public liability), qualified climbers, and proper traffic management when the job calls for it.

Most Canberra jobs run on a clear schedule. We confirm a site visit, walk the property with you, agree the scope in writing, and lock in a date. For removals near powerlines we coordinate with Evoenergy on 13 10 93 before the work starts. For council-protected trees we prepare the documentation needed for a permit application — including a written arborist statement when required.

On site, the tree comes down in controlled sections using climbing or Elevated Work Platform access, with rigging gear so nothing falls free. Green waste is chipped on site, the lawn gets a final sweep, and the stump grinds below grade if you want it gone. You can re-turf, replant, or repave straight away. Most single-tree removals in Canberra finish inside one day; larger acreage jobs are quoted in stages.

Call us on 0480 847 941 or fill in the quote form below. We'll respond the same business day in most cases — usually inside two hours during peak season — and lock in a site visit or send a written quote the same week.
